2020 Goals

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to re-evaluate your office lifestyle to accomplish New Years goals. If you are unsure of where to begin, here are three common workplace behaviors that should be eliminated to help you be healthier in 2020.

Your Office Is Sedentary

In 2016, it was discovered that 39.8% of our population was categorized as obese or extremely close to being obese. The problem? We just don’t get enough exercise throughout the day. If you can’t afford to equip your office with active seating or sit-stand desks, try going for a 10 minute walk every day around the office. This will keep you moving and keep you healthier.

Your Diet Has Too Much Sugar

The average American takes in 22 teaspoons of added sugar. To put this in perspective, the American Heart Association recommends less than nine. A great way to cut back on sugar is by watching what you add to your coffee and choosing healthier drink options. Instead of reaching for a can of soda, try flavored water like La Croix or Hint.

You’re Not Taking Vacation

In 2017, around 52% of Americans weren’t taking vacation. Not only is this bad for stress levels, but it’s also bad for productivity. A great way to ensure that you take a vacation is by delegating tasks in your job. When you delegate, you are training someone else to be in charge when you are not there!
