The sales department brought in cookies. So you had one, two... okay, three. Couple these treats with your sedentary office life, and things are looking a bit out of shape. If you’re looking for ways to avoid the holiday fifteen, here are a couple tricks.

Park At The End Of The Lot

Yes, there’s a parking space right next to the door. No, don’t use it. Try parking your car or encouraging your carpool to choose the spot at the end of the lot. If you take public transportation, get off a stop or two early. It may seem like a small difference, but that extra walking time will add up!

Stand Whenever Possible

This can mean investing in a sit-stand desk. This can also mean using bluetooth to walk while you take your office calls. Even a meeting can be done standing! So try to incorporate more time on your feet during the workday.

Set An Alarm

For most of us, being inactive is related directly to forgetfulness. Try setting a timer on your watch or setting up an alert in your email. Not into the digital reminders? Stick note reminders on your computer screen.
