Printer Problems

We've all had that moment. Two minutes before an essential meeting with an error message. It's when you find yourself muttering, standing in front of the machine, pressing buttons and opening drawers.

Well the next time you find yourself in such a situation (because there will be a next time), take a deep breath and try some of these tricks!

Problem: No Paper?

All the drawers have paper, but says it has no paper?!?? Check which tray you are printing to. Most commonly, people accidently print to the bypass tray, which usually stocks no paper.

Problem: Paper Jam Signal?

It says it has a jam, but it seems clear. First, double check. Sometimes, it's identifying a small piece of paper within its gears. If you truly believe that it has no jam, shut down the printer and restart. If it still doesn't work, call a tech.

Problem: Out of Ink?

It says I need to replace an ink cartridge, but I'm out of ink and need to print. Help! Pop out the toners, shake them (yes, we're serious) and replace them in the printer.
