In our opinion, it's never too early to start decorating the office or home for fun-filled Halloween. Try out these fun office supply ideas:
1. Candy Corn Garland
When it comes to decorating for Halloween, I prefer fun decorations over scary and gory Halloween decorations. This Candy Corn Garland is so cute and super simple to make! First, paint the outside of the plate orange. The pattern on the plate makes a good guide and helps to make nice even circles. Let the orange paint dry before painting the inside circle yellow. That way the paint won't smear or run together. Leave the center of the plate white. When the paint is dry, cut the plate in half. Then cut the halves in half again. You should have eight equal pieces that look like candy corn. Then just taping the paper plate pieces to a long strand of twine (or ribbon). There you go! A super simple and fun way to dress up any office!
Supplies Needed: Paper plates. Yellow & orange paint. Paint brush. Scissors. Twine (or ribbon). Tape.
2. Patchwork Pumpkins
Guilty of being a hazardous carver? Avoid the scrapes by simply coloring your pumpkin this year. With a little imagination, it's easy to create vivid, one-of-a-kind pumpkins that will be the envy of the neighborhood! Here we used a quilt or patchwork pattern. To achieve this look use your oil pastels to stack patches of color, one on top of the other, creating a vertical column down the side of the pumpkin. Create a second column by repeating using a different set of colors, then make another column using the first set of colors. Stagger and repeat, working your way around the surface of the pumpkin, making sure to cover the entire surface. Best of all, they are water-proof and weather-proof, so they can sit out on your porch the whole of autumn.
Supplies Needed: Pentel Oil Pastels and a pumpkin.
3. Halloween Hand Treat Bag
This is the easiest of the bunch and maybe my favorite. For the fingers I used Smarties. Then I filled them rest of the way with mini Hershey candy bars and mini Reese's peanut butter cups, and Hershey Kisses. I had to add a little ring. Once filled, I just tied them with craft ribbon and there you've got yourself an excellent way to serve your favorite treats.
Supplies Needed: Clear Vinyl Gloves. Variety of Candy. Ribbon. A bunch of Plastic Spider Rings.
4. Tissue Box Monster
Looking to add more fun to your Halloween decor? Try making monsters out of empty tissue boxes. Using the opening as a mouth, you can pretty much design whatever creature your imagination can come up with. Here we painted an empty tissue box. Then after it dried, we added some polka dots using craft paint and the end of a paint brush. While the paint dried, I drew some teeth on white card stock and cut it out. Next, we used egg cartons and used a hot glue gun to add wiggle eyes on them. We also used the hot glue gun to glue the teeth and eyes onto the tissue box. Now, we've got a friendly and hungry little monster to be put on display.
Supplies Needed: Empty Tissue Boxes. Tempera Paint. Paint Brushes. White Card Stock. Wiggle Eyes. Empty Egg Carton. Glue gun & glue sticks.
5. Spook Up Your Breakroom
All you need is two large sheets of black card stock and some tape. You then draw out your pattern onto the card stock however you want it to look and cut it out. Once it was cut, simply add several pieces of folded tape (or try double-sided tape) to the back to make sure it sticks. Then, I simply placed the pieces on the fridge. It is as simple as that and now you can have your very own spooky refrigerator. You can do the same to any file cabinet or even dress up the trash bin in your breakroom! Simply cut out the ghost or pumpkin face patterns of your choice and let the hauntings begin!
